The Countdown Begins
The Countdown Begins……..
Happy New Year to everyone! That's it. You have had your rest, eaten too much and wished you’d had a sherbert fewer. Hopefully the Christmas indulgences haven't taken too much toll.
The off season has really flown by. I’ve very much kept myself to myself working overtime to pump up the bank balance. I’ve taken a break and disconnected a little to help me recover and tackle the new season as good as new.
I’ve rested a little and spent some time catching up with my family and friends.
I am now confirm that I will be back in the BSB Paddock racing in the The Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship on a 675R Triumph this season which I took delivery of a couple of weeks ago. WWWwwww…..It’s something special, pretty amazing; beautiful. I’ve spent a lot of time looking at it, thinking and remembering why my motorcycle is my girlfriend!
With the backing of Bill Smith Motors I will also make a debut appearance racing at the famous Daytona 200 in the 57-lap race known as one of the toughest in America in March. A huge thanks goes to Bill for this opportunity. I can only hope that I will achieve the same success in America as I did at the start of last season in India.
Anyway that’s all on the racing front for now. Following a frustrating end to last season and I’m blaming no one or nothing as someone once said “most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle”, am I ready to begin this season – bring it on! I think the nice thing would be to go into the first race happy; enjoy the experience; work very hard and try to achieve the maximum possible, and do the best I possibly can.
I do have goals, but we'll just have to see how they pan out.
It's a big calendar but in the background I've been training harder than I ever have, and as a result I'm fitter and stronger than I've ever been. The countdown begins and I can’t wait to move pre-season preparations onto the race track and get me and the bike out of hibernation!
