Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport contender David Jones is heading stateside for his debut at the Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona 200 race in March. The 57-lap race is known as one of the toughest in American motorcycling because of its endurance like qualities of pit stops for tyres and fuel, high speed banking and safety car periods.
Jones who can't wait to turn out for all the Triumph fans who will be cheering the team on at this historic race, he said: "Due to the nature of Daytona it will be tough on top speed, but I'm sure to shine on the brakes and out of the corners. I am looking forward to the race - mentally it's a bigger challenge than physically but I've been training harder than I ever have, and as a result I'm fitter and stronger than I've ever been".
22-year old Jones is being backed for the race by Bill Smith Motors Ltd, Chester and Bill Smith, founder of Bill Smith Motors is looking forward to the event: "David is fast wherever he goes; he has lots of experience and is an excellent ambassador for Triumph. He attracts a loyal following of supporters wherever he goes. He is no stranger to a gruelling long race and knows that strategy and preparation is the key to success".
Following his appearance at Daytona, the Clwyd racing team will be back in the British Supersport paddock aboard a brand new Triumph 675R for the 2011 season. C u there!
